Pokémon Go isn’t a global phenomenon just yet as the game
has only been available in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. But the game is
preparing for its European launch. Pokémon Go is now available in Germany on
the iPhone and Android — other European countries should follow soon.
Pokemon GO is now available to users in Germany, the
official Pokémon GO Twitter account announced today. A report earlier in the
week indicated Pokémon GO would launch in the UK and other parts of Europe in a
matter of days: it appears Germany is the first lucky country to be able to
officially play the hit mobile game. Find the game in the App Store.
the company behind Pokémon Go Niantic Labs announced that the European launch had been delayed due to server issues. And it’s true that Pokémon Go has had its fair share of downtime. The game regularly becomes unresponsive because there are simply too many people playing it.
I’ve been playing the game with a Pokémon Trainer Club
account and I got logged out constantly before the 1.0.1 update. After the
update, I simply wasn’t able to log in at all for a few hours. Now it’s working
again.
Similarly, Pokémon Go incorrectly requested full access to
your Gmail and Google account before yesterday’s update. Now that Niantic Labs
fixed these issues, the company can start rolling out the game in new markets
again.
Given that the game is only available in Germany for now, it
looks like the company wants to make sure that the servers can hold the charge
before launching all European countries at once. But you can certainly expect
other European launches over the coming days. Up next: Asia.
Unofficially, the game is playable worldwide by using a US
iTunes Store account to download the game even if you live in another region.
Although this technique does work, setting up foreign store accounts and
switching between them is such a pain it is probably not worth doing. Luckily,
those hassles should no longer be necessary as the developer is now rolling out
the game to more countries, starting with Germany.
If you already went through the hassle of getting a foreign account and downloaded it outside the US., New Zealand and Australia,
there are 2 Ways to get it:
- Continue with the APK that you already have because your Google Play Store recognizes it and you can update it without any Problems.
- Your Google Play Store still says "not available in you Country"? Uninstall your downloaded APK and refresh the Play Store. Now it will be available for download.
Will my progress disappear when i uninstall it?
No it wont. You can use the same Login that you used before and everything you cached/bought/gathered will be there where you left it.
