GOOGLE'S NEW FLAGSHIP "PIXEL AND PIXEL XL" SPECS, PRICES AND ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW
Can Google's Smartphone "Pixel and Pixel XL rival other Smartphone in the same Ecosystem out there?
The tech giants announced a slew of new products that integrate with the artificial intelligence technology, the most noteworthy of which is the first Google flagship phone, the Pixel."When I look ahead at where computing is headed it's clear to me that we are evolving from a mobile first to an AI first world," Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, told the audience at the start of the presentation.
Another big trend was the Internet of Things. For the first time, Google presented a comprehensive hardware catalog that could reasonably be used in unison to power a complete smart home.
The first Google flagship phone the Pixel and Pixel XL:
After a slew of leaks, it's finally official. the Pixel phone starts at $649 and will come in two sizes, Pixel and Pixel XL. It will be available exclusively through a partnership with Verizon and can be preordered in the U.S. and select other countries beginning Tuesday. Preorders in India begin later this month.
The Pixel is going to come in three colors that the internet has already begun cracking jokes about: Quite Black, Very Silver, and limited edition Really Blue.
The biggest difference between the two phones is screen size. The Pixel is 5 inches, and the XL is 5.5 inches, exactly the same as the iPhone 7 Plus. There's a fingerprint sensor on the back of each phone, which all come preinstalled with Google's Assistant.
Both devices are built by HTC and powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor. They come in two storage options: 32GB or 128 GB.
One huge perk is that the Pixel comes with unlimited full-resolution photo and video storage via Google Photos.
The feature that got the most cheers? Unlike the iPhone 7, the Pixel does come with a headphone jack.
